I tried Acid Music Studio 8 on the 30 day trial period prior to purchasing and was immediately impressed after 2 days of use, and I have previously tried other similar programs that fell short on many levels. After the 30 day trial, I knew I had found the right software for my needs - which is to create customized music for my video tutorials. There are countless of music loops from many genres out there, and I like the fact that I can choose a genre for the kind of tutorial I am making. I use Corel Painter software and a Wacom tablet to create my digital art, and adding music to them makes it more fun to watch and learn. The interface isn't all that appealing (I'm a graphic designer by day), so I tend to look at the user-interface of everything I use, but I digress. Sony's Acid Music Studio 8 controls are easy and intuitive to use. It does take a bit of playing around with the software before becoming accustomed, as with most new software, but the output of the final product is outstanding. Since I don't have time to fine tune the sound, I can at least control the gain and fade, and get really tight with the length of the loop I want to adjust, which is fine for creating loop-based songs.
